Nowak gives IMS Medallion Lecture at Joint Statistical Meeting

Robert Nowak, the Keith and Jane Morgan Nosbusch Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, was invited to give an Institute of Mathematical Statistics Medallion Lecture at the Joint Statistical Meeting in August, 2021.

Nowak, who focuses on signal processing, machine learning, optimization and statistics delivered a lecture titled “What Kinds of Functions Do Neural Networks Learn?

The IMS Medallion Lecture is one of the most prestigious keynote lectures of the American Statistical Association.
