Kaibo Liu, an associate professor of industrial and systems engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has earned the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers’ (IISE) 2021 Award for Technical Innovation in Industrial Engineering.
The organization honored Liu on May 24 at its annual conference and expo, which is being held virtually this year. Liu, an expert in system informatics and big data analytics, has won numerous early career awards since joining the UW-Madison faculty in 2013. He received IISE’s Innovations in Education Award in 2020, as well as a best application paper award for the institute’s IISE Transactions journal.
