Beebe and collaborators to study breast cancer drug efficacy

Biomedical Engineering Professor David Beebe, Surgery Associate Professor Lee Wilke and Oncology Assistant Professor Mark Burkard have received a Collaborative Health Sciences Program award from the Wisconsin Partnership Program Education and Research Committee (PERC). PERC, which allocates funds designated for education and research initiatives that advance public health, awarded $500,000 to the team for its project, “Multiplexed in vivo device to asses optimal breast cancer therapy.” This research will investigate a multiplexed, in vivo approach to drug sensitivity testing, and has the potential to both dramatically improve patient outcomes and to accelerate the process of targeted drug development.
