Crone recognized by SEM for work with experimental mechanics

The Society for Experimental Mechanics honored Wendy Crone, the associate dean for graduate education for the Graduate School and a professor of engineering physics, with its M.M. Frocht Award. Presented to outstanding educators who demonstrate excellence in the field of experimental mechanics, the award recognizes Crone's work to better understand the mechanical response of materials on the nanoscale, examining how cells and their surroundings interact to craft better applications of those materials, including next-generation biomedical devices.
