WisCEL receives Teaching and Learning Innovation Award
The Wisconsin Collaboratory for Enhanced Learning (WisCEL) received one of the inaugural UW-Madison Teaching and Learning Innovation Awards. The new awards honor groups on campus who develop new teaching and learning methodologies, technologies or practices that empower students to pursue and create knowledge in thoughtful, creative ways. WisCEL and fellow winning group Team Origin will receive $10,000 each along with their awards. WisCEL, housed in Wendt Commons and College Library and directed by Duane H. and Dorothy M. Bluemke Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering John Booske, offers UW-Madison students and faculty an array of resources and learning experiences that challenge traditional course models. WisCEL spaces are intended less for lectures and more for group discussion, collaborative projects, and other participatory activities.
