Justin Boutilier is a PhD candidate in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on combining optimization and machine learning to improve the quality, access, and delivery of healthcare in a variety of settings. In this talk, he presents a robust optimization approach to optimize both the location and routing of emergency response vehicles, accounting for uncertainty in travel times and spatial demand characteristics of LMICs.
