Our students are learning the essential skills to be leaders of tomorrow – those who see beyond global issues to innovative solutions and see the impossible as an exciting dare to do something extraordinary:
- Scholarships for women – Recruit and provide support for women who are interested in pursuing a career in engineering
- Undergraduate scholarships – provide financial support for high – achieving students
- Graduate fellowships – Provide resources to recruit and retain top graduate students, who are magnets for outstanding faculty
Advances in technology necessitate a rethinking of engineering innovation and design education that in turn requires a new form of engineering undergraduate classroom and laboratory space:
- Education Innovation scholars – Provide support for graduate students who will help advance education innovation among faculty by providing technical expertise and training
- Classroom renovations – Provide a top notch learning environment for the next generation of Badger engineers
- Lab renovations – Provide state of the art equipment that ensures faculty and students are conducting research in the most modern environment
Our accomplished faculty plays a vital role in advancing the department’s mission to provide an exceptional student experience propelled and enhanced by ground- breaking research and the pursuit of knowledge:
- Faculty awards – Recognize the importance of innovation and creativity in and outside of the classroom
- Chairs and professorships – Provide named professorships to faculty who demonstrate significant scholarly achievement and advancement of learning
In order to continue our pursuit of conducting research at the highest level, we must be able to provide exceptional hands-on learning opportunities while also supporting a culture of interdisciplinary discovery:
- Dissertator awards – Provide support for graduate students in the dissertation phase of their program
- Department lecture series – Broaden the educational experience of students and the surrounding community by bringing distinguished lecturers to campus who encourage though- provoking conversations around emerging engineering topics
