Cooperative education (co-op) is an academic option as part of your engineering education. Students who participate in the co-op program complete assignments and receive academic credit toward degree completion and graduation. While on co-op, students are considered full-time students.

Co-op through the College of Engineering are

  • Full-time positions lasting approximately eight months, either January to August, or May to December. Traditional alternating term programs are also available
  • For academic credit and count towards your degree
  • Competitively compensation averaging $18-20/hour at the Bachelor’s level
  • Real-world, hands-on experience as you will be work on complex, large projects under the direction and supervision of an engineer


  1. Must be accepted into a department at the College of Engineering
  2. Must have at least two semesters of school remaining
  3. Pay for one credit of tuition as an undergraduate; two credits for graduate students

Note: Some employers provide tuition reimbursement
