I strongly believe that each of us has a personal obligation and responsibility to share our time, talent and treasure with the people and organizations that have made a difference in our lives. By doing this for the UW-Madison and the College of Engineering, I can help ensure that these great institutions of learning can continue to make a difference in the lives of future students by preparing them for their careers. I chose to support the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering because, as a graduate of this department, it helped provide an identity to my skills and my career. I would like other students to be molded by its unique blend of science, business and people skills, in the same way that it shaped and developed me. I would also like to see my support assist in the branding and recognition of what an outstanding field this is. I have been a member of the ISyE Industrial Advisory Board since 2002.
I chose to support the College of Engineering Fund for Excellence because I want to assist in the evolution of the future of the college. Although we may not be able to imagine what that future is, I don’t want the college to be constrained by the boundaries of today. I want to see the benefits generated by the college to be experienced across the state, nation and world.
By supporting the college, we validate the difference it has made in our lives, we share some of our expertise that it originally helped to nurture, and we provide the opportunity to create lasting change. All of this leads to future students’ ability to experience the growth and knowledge that will shape their careers and the world.
