As a student, I was in the marching band and we traveled to Minnesota for an away game with the Badgers. We were losing the entire game, and then there was a blocked punt! [Watch this play at tinyurl.com/23uma5d.] We went crazy — during the celebration you can hear us (the drumline) really making a lot of noise — and had an awesome 5th quarter with the remaining Badger fans in the stands. My wife, who is also a UW graduate, and I both live in the Boston area, so we go to the local meeting place for other UW alumni here when the Badgers play football. I decided to give back to the college because when I was a student there I received a lot of support from the school. I want current students to feel the same level of support I felt because it definitely made my experience less stressful financially! I support the college mission and I graduated from the engineering school, so it was an easy choice.
