The Point System
What's the point system you ask? Well, every year during the spring semester, NSBE/WBESS members travel to the
NSBE National Conference, where there are tons of professional workshops and networking opportunities for young black engineers. Usually, this conference is not held near the midwest. Last years conference was in Texas and this year it will be in Boston, Massachusetts. You can imagine that the price of such a plane ticket is astronomical to a college student, here enters the the usefulness of the point system. Depending on your involvement with NSBE/WBESS , you will be awarded based on the point system. After a period of time, based on the amount of points accumulated, NSBE/WBESS will help finance a portion of your traveling expenses!!!
