UWiTS is open to UW-Madison students from all majors.  We serve as the UW-Madison Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) student chapter.  Remember, membership in UWiTS is free and free food is served at our monthly lunch meetings (unless noted otherwise). Please check back here regularly as announcements will be updated frequently.

  universities.  They can do so simply by sending an e-mail message to

  TCN is not of interest unsubscribing directions are included in each
  issue.  They may review previous issues of the TCN online at

• Golf Outing: Monday, September 13 at 11:30.  Contact Marsha Landretti (landretti@engr.wisc.edu)  to participate or volunteer. 
• ITE & WWTS Milwaukee Breakfast:  Tuesday, September 14^th at the Radisson Hotel Milwaukee West.  The topic is “Public Involvement or Public Relations – Which is it?”  The cost is $15 with student’s being half price.  Please make reservations for the Breakfast Meeting by NOON on Thursday, September 9th with Shana Mogensen preferably by email at 'shana.k.mogensen@gasai.com'. 
• ITS Forum: September 21 at UW- Milwaukee’s Center for Continuing Education.  The Forum is a great opportunity for professionals to expand their knowledge and understanding of the newest transportation technologies and operational tactics.  This year's technical program provides participants with a diverse range of public and private sector speakers and touches upon several diverse topics.  Registration Fee is $45 and the deadline is September 14.
• UW Campus Transportation Committee:  The web address to apply for ASM appointments is http://www.asm.wisc.edu/advocacy/shared_gov.html .  First meeting is Tuesday, September 21 at 12 pm in the WARF Building.  In case of questions, contact Eric Goodman (ericgoodman@wisc.edu,).
•  6^th Annual Transportation Forum:  October 6 at Country Inn in Pewaukee.  Some of this year's forum agenda include discussion on various projects around the state including the Menomonee Valley in Milwaukee, the North Mendota Parkway near Madison, the intermodal facility in Illinois, the Wisconsin Statewide Multimodal Travel Demand Model.  Registration is $10 for students.  Deadline for registration is Friday, September 17.  Contact Rob Beuthling (rbeuthling@hntb.com/608.259.0045) for more information and registration forms.
• The 16^th Annual Colloqium on Aging:  October 13 at Monona Terrace.  A one-day event that includes speakers, health fair, poster session, and presentation of New Investigator Awards.  (www.aging.wisc.edu).  Contact Andi Bill (bill@wisc.edu), if you are interested in helping with a table at the conference.
