About our Organization The University of Wisconsin-Madison Transportation Society is a group of students who are from different disciplines and educational backgrounds, including civil engineering, logistics, industrial engineering and economics, but have a common interest in transportation. Topics covered in our monthly meetings are logistics, roadway reconstruction, transportation safety, and ITS in Wisconsin. We also attend various transportation meetings, such as the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Meeting, and have our ideas presented and published. While becoming a member of UWiTS is FREE (just show up to one of our meetings), we do offer student memberships in the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). In the past years our organization was recognized by obtaining the 2003, 2004 and 2006 Student Chapters awards from the Midwestern ITE Section. We are committed in taking part in community service activities. We have been involved in activities such as Science Expedition, Math Counts and Safe Routes to School among others. If you are interested in getting involed with our organization by bringing transportation related activities to schools, by inviting us to take part of community projects or bringing transportation related presentation to our university among others don't hesitate to Contact Us. Our organization is composed of members from different entities located at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. For such reason we encourage you to visit the links bellow which will take you to different centers and laboratories involved with transportation engineering at UW-Madison.
