Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine (H2 ICE) 2006
The Internal Combustion Engine The hydrogen internal combustion engine project's goal is to produce electricity from hydrogen by running a 4 stroke engine connected to a starter/generator on low grade hydrogen. Fuel cells require almost pure hydrogen and are expensive(about $3,000). The engine UWFEC is planning to use is under $100.
