NAME: Kelley Gerschke
YEAR: "Super" Senior
MAJOR: Biological Systems Engineering with a Food and Bioprocess Emphasis
HOMETOWN: Richfield, WI
EMAIL: gerschke@wisc.edu
ABOUT ME:
My grandfather and my father both went to UW-Madison for engineering, so for a while I was thinking that I might try something else. I am so glad that I didn't. This University and the College of Engineering have been an amazing experience. I have one younger sister, Jenny, who also goes to Madison. She has been very involved, and continues to be involved, with SWE as well.
MY INVOLVEMENT WITH SWE:
Hey SWEsters! I am taking my second victory lap in Biological Systems Engineering with a Food and Bioprocess Emphasis. (Essentially it is half Chemical Engineering, half Food Science). I have been a part of SWE every year I have been in school and it has truly added so much to my college experience. Other than school and SWE, I spend my time working as an SA for the InterEng 160 course, as well as in the Pre-Engineering Office. I also love to run and play sports. Hope to see you at our next event!
JOB EXPERIENCE:
I have had four internships: SC Johnson, Bostik Inc, Kimberly-Clark and Diageo. I also work as a Student Assistant for two Introduction to Engineering Courses. Feel free to ask me anything about my internships or the intro courses.
FAVORITE CLASS/PROFESSOR:
Any of my Technical Communications Classes with Christine Nicometo
OTHER ACTIVITIES/ORGANIZATIONS:
AIChE, Intramurals (virtually any sport), SA for InterEng 160 and InterEng 102
FAVORITE THING TO DO ON CAMPUS:
Farmer's Market Saturday Mornings!! (If anyone wants to go, let me know!)
FAVORITE BABCOCK ICE CREAM FLAVOR:
O geez, how can you pick one?
