EWI- Evening With Industry

General Information

The Society of Women Engineers is sponsoring its annual Evening with Industry (EWI) banquet on February 1, 2010 at the Great Hall in the Memorial Union from 5-9 pm. This event promotes networking in a comfortable setting, between corporate representatives and engineering students, through a career fair, dinner, and awards ceremony. While companies are exposed to the University of Wisconsin campus, both representatives and students are able to interact in a smaller, more personal setting, discussing potential career opportunities in engineering. In years past, the event has successfully hosted over 40 companies and 200 students. Following this event, the College of Engineering will be holding its spring career fair on February 2-3, 2010. Cost

Students:

This event is open to all engineering students for the cost of $12. As a benefit to being a paid SWE member, the cost is only $10. This includes a $20 dinner and the opportunity to network with various companies. As an additional benefit to paid SWE members, company-sponsored scholarships will be awarded at the EWI Banquet. Look for more information on scholarships, available on either the SWE website, or via e-mail, in TWIS (This Week in SWE).

Companies:

The fees for a non-sponsor company participation are: $300.00 for one booth, including one table and two company representatives; $75.00 for each additional representative (limit of 4 total representatives). There will be a $25 early bird discount applied on payments received before December 1, 2009. This cost covers: dinner for each representative, a company display booth, and electronic copies of the resumes of student participants. The resumes will be sent out in advance so companies have the opportunity to review resumes and invite students to see them at the event. To acknowledge you for your contributions, we will include a description of your company in the program booklet. SWE sponsors are eligible for a discount. Please contact the EWI officers at swe_ewi@cae.wisc.edu for more information.
