Greetings!
Congratulations on becoming involved with the most active Engineering Student Organization on campus (awarded by Polygon, the Engineering Student Council). We promise that you will not be disappointed! SWE at UW- Madison is focused on promoting women in science and engineering. This organization has much to offer: tutoring, Science Olympiad, Girl Scout Badge Days, Day on Campus, networking with industry, technical competitions and social events, all of which will foster relationships with fellow engineers as well as your surrounding community.
This is going to be a fun and exciting year. All of our previous, successful events are back along with plans to add a few new events to our jam-packed calendar. The variety of events allows you to participate in a little bit of everything, or focus on a few things; whichever best fits your personality and your schedule.
As always, we are very open to new ideas from all of our members and industry sponsors. There are plenty of opportunities for leadership roles, whether as an elected officer, or leading your own event.
Never hesitate to contact any of your officers. We look forward to meeting you and can’t wait for your contribution towards enhancing our SWE section!
Best of luck this year!
Kelley Gerschke
SWE President 2008-2009
