Welcome Letter

Greetings!

Congratulations on becoming involved with the most active Engineering Student Organization on campus! We promise that you will not be disappointed with all of the fun things we have planned for this year! SWE at UW- Madison is focused on promoting women in science and engineering. We do many activities throughout the year to support this. Some of what we have to offer includes tutoring, Science Olympiad, Girl Scout Badge Days, Day on Campus, networking with industry, technical competitions and social events, all of which will foster relationships with fellow engineers and your surrounding community.

I know this is going to be a fun and exciting year. All of our previous, successful events are back along with plans to add a few more to our already jam-packed calendar. The variety of events we have allows you to participate in a little bit of everything, or focus on a few things; whichever best fits your personality and your schedule.

As always, we are very open to new ideas from all of our members and industry sponsors. If you have some great ideas, feel free to contact any of the officers and well be happy to help you make it happen. Keep in mind, there are always plenty of opportunities for leadership roles, whether as an elected officer, or leading your own event!

Never hesitate to contact me or any of your officers. We look forward to meeting you soon and cant wait for your contributions to our SWE section!

Best of luck this year!

Kelsey Kornaus
SWE President 2009-2010
