Differential Tuition

Differential Tuition Deliverables

  1. High quality learning experience and engineering education to meet the needs of the 21st century,
  2. Reduction in time to degree,
  3. Increased number of engineering graduates per year.

What is Differential Tuition?

Differential Tuition is an addition tuition College of Engineering Undergraduates pay once admitted to a degree-granting program. The Board of Regents approved Differential Tuition in spring of 2008. The Differential Tuition Committee was created under Polygon Engineering Student Council to review student proposals for Differential Tuition projects. The Committee then passes on proposals that fulfill the deliverables of Differential Tuition to the Deans of the College of Engineering. Student Organizations or Student groups with a staff or faculty advisor may submit proposals. This ensures that the proposal can be seen through even after students graduate. Proposals must address the deliverables of Differential Tuition, include a metric to evaluate the success of the proposed project, and include a budget.

Undergraduate Student "Wants"

The Differential Tuition Committee held a Discussion Forum which took place October 12th, 2009. We used student feedback from the forum to update the Undergraduate Student "Wants" 2006 document to reflect current thoughts on important areas in the college. Modifications and additions are highlighted in the Undergraduate Student "Wants" 2009 Rough document. We then brought the new document to the Polygon General Meeting on October 21st, 2009. Student Organization Representatives present at the meeting endorsed this document. (For a full list of Student Organizations represented see the final document.) The final document and all previously mentioned documents are below.
