Polygon's mission statement is as follows: “to foster cooperation and communication among students, student organizations, the College of Engineering (CoE) administration, and industry”. This is a big responsibility for any one organization, but thanks to the dedicated students that run for positions every semester; Polygon fulfills the needs of the engineering students every semester. 

The Polygon Team at the 2007 NAESC National Conference in Purdue University Polygon is the student council of the College of Engineering .

We have elections each semester during which our executive board positions are filled for one or three semester terms. Polygon holds two general meetings each month. These meetings are open and serve as a venue where problems facing the College of Engineering can be discussed. Representatives from each registered College of Engineering student organization regularly attend these meetings and are able to vote on issues and measures as they arise. In many ways, Polygon is much more than just a student government. In addition to its responsibilities as a conventional student council, Polygon also seeks to develop a strong connection with students of the engineering campus while acting as a resource for the College of Engineering faculty, staff and administrators. Polygon prides itself on creating events that are both beneficial and inclusive to College of Engineering students and faculty and the surrounding community.
