General Meeting - Oct. 27 2009

Eta Kappa Nu will be having a general meeting for all members on Tuesday November 27th at 6:30 p.m. in 2534 Engineering Hall. We will be discussing plans for the year and enjoying pizza.

Saviz Artang from Thomson Reuters will be presenting a tech talk about Flash/Flex programming this fall.

HKN Initiation - Sat, April 4 2009

The Initiation ceremony will begin at noon followed by a catered lunch in the lobby.The ceremony will be in 1610 and shouldn't last more than 25 minutes.

MIT Tech Talk - Tues, Feb. 25 2009

Dr. Nancy B. List of MIT Lincoln Labs will be giving a tech talk entitled "Implementation Considerations for Wideband Wireless Communications" on Tuesday, 24 February 2009 in 1610 Engineering Hall from 530 PM - 630 PM. Dr. List is a Technical Staff Member of their Advanced Satcom Systems and Operations Group in the Communications and Information Technology Division. The abstract for her talk can be found here

Thomson Reuters Tech Talk - Mon, Oct. 20 2008

Interested in how flash video games work? Like using flash? Then this is for you. Saviz Artang of Thomson Reuters will be presenting "How to build a video game in Flash in 1 hour". Here is the link to the source code and the game http://savizartang.com/codecamp2008/. If you enhance/improve the game at all Savis Artang is interested. ESPN Info Session - Thurs, Oct. 9 2008

Come find out more about ESPN and what they are all about at Union South at 7:30. The info session will be right after the ESPN tech talk, but the info session will cover different material. The two are completely unrelated so if you are interested in the company but not the tech talk then this is for you!

At 8pm in 3534 there was a National Instruments Tech Talk given by NI's Jonah Paul. Jonah will be presenting on 2 new and exciting National Instrument projects, their new embedded RT computer/FPGA product and their wireless Data acquisition system.

Eta Kappa Nu will be having a general meeting for all members on Wednesday November 14th from 5 to 6 p.m. in 1610 Engineering Hall. We will be discussing plans for the year and enjoying pizza. This meeting is mandatory for all members.

 

MIT Lincoln Laboratory Tech Talk - Nov. 26 2007

The MIT Lincoln Laboratory will be giving a talk on "Superconducting Nanowire Detectors for Photon-Counting Optical Communications at Gigabit/second Data Rates." It will take place on Monday November 26th in 1610 Engineering Hall from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. More information about this talk is available from MIT.

Eta Kappa Nu is in the process of designing a ECE t-shirt with a tie in to both Engineering Hall and the many diverse facets of ECE that we have all come to know and love.

 

Intuit - Wednesday March 7th

Can You Support It? - Zach Moneypenny
Zach graduated from UW Madison in 2001 with a degree in Computer Science. Since graduating, he has worked at Intuit in several different positions and is currently a senior software engineer. Zach will be giving a presentation about developing consumer software. He is interested in software design for testing and maintainability. In his presentation, he will talk about the costs of debugging software and building designs that can easily be extended in the future. We hope you will join us Wednesday night. Remember, free food and drinks will be provided!

Pregame with KHK

Along with KHK, HKN will be cosponsoring a pregame party at 114 N. Orchard (KHK House) before the November 4th football game against Penn St. Come early for free food and drink before you head out to the game.
