A year of hard work came to its peak this past weekend in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Our team competed hard in the races, achieving first place finishes in four of the five races. The women won both the endurance and the sprint, a feat never accomplished by UW-Madison's women paddlers. The men took first in the endurance race and committed a critical mistake in their sprint final, leading to a 5th place finish, while the co-ed team placed first for a second year in a row. The team's final product placed 2nd, thanks to the hard work of many who took on the daunting task of sanding (for what seemed like forever at times, with no end in sight). The Oral Presentation finished 3rd behind great presentations by Nevada-Reno and Clemson. The team had no large mishaps during the presentation, and felt they answered questions confidently. Finally, the team's attention to detail in the design paper allowed a first place finish in that category for the second year in a row. Overall, the 21 engineers in attendance had a terrific time, and those returning can't wait to get going on next year!

Forward

Named after our State's Motto and based on our school's idea of "Forward Thinking," Forward combines successful methods from our team's past and innovative changes to move toward a more efficient design and construction process.
