Co-Chairs
|
Nick Bobinski

Nick is so confused what expression to have, Favre broke the touchdown passes record but three games later he broke the interceptions record. It's ok nick, it makes me go slack jawed too.
|
Jodi Zwickey

Jodi learned a lot last year and will be applying her wealth of mix design knowledge this year. Leading the concrete mix design and the team overall will be her calling. Even all the stress involved with leading the team can't stop her from smiling!
|
Dave Blodgett

Dave just won't get his head out of the water. No matter how much people try to stop him, he just seems to dive in head first every time. Dave is returning as hull and mold engineer. He'll be bringing experience from whitewater kayaking and the paddle sports industry to make this year's canoe the best yet.

Paddlers
|
Kelly Greuel
Kelly is a force to be reckoned with. Once you wipe that silly little grin off her face it's all grit and gusto. She aims to bench twice her weight this year, and have a cross bow that pretty much tears the bow of the canoe off. Watchout! |
Nicole Brostowitz

Nicole, having confidently lead mix design last year is will continue to be a major part of the team. This year she will lead the technical break stuff division of UW-Madison concrete canoe.
|
Ivy Harmon
After two hours and 8 miles on the water, ivy was warmer then ever! We had to rush to get this picture because she started steaming and all the ice melted right off! |
Dave Blodgett

See some of Dave's other paddling escapades here.
|
George Sullivan

When the canoe team comes across someone that is a "problem" we go to George "Georgy Boy" Sullivan and his little friend seen above. George will be taking opponents home in the trunk in 2007.
|
Alex Rexrode

Alex had a lot of fun in the Netherlands. The shoes seem to fit just right. You know what they say about guys with big shoes right? That's right, big feet! |
The Elite Supporting Cast
|
Robbie Sivak

Robbie decided he would forget about getting a real job and is returning as a grad student advisor to the team. His help on analysis and generally having a good 'ol time will be great! |
Ann Thielmann
Not pictured here, is the four canoers in Forward
that are pulling Ann. We thought we would step up our training
efforts and by regionals 2007, we'll be pulling a pyramid made up of
all the freshmen on the team. |
Ashley Bartlein

Ashley is new to the team this year, and has been actively paddling in the swimming pool and practicing her stability by riding moving carts on ice.
|
Adam Reinbold
Reinbold, pictured above at the Wentworth Institute is
amazingly happy about something. Adam is just a happy guy like that.
He's been a die hard Canoe member since the good 'ol days of
taliesin, and will bring that experience to the team this year!
|
Jackie Strait

Jackie is full of bounce just like Tigger. You never know when she'll be bouncing through the lab doors
|
Corey Olson

On his quest to be a better kisser, Corey stoops pretty low
on occasion. Practice makes perfect, you keep up the practice and
one day the girls will come running... maybe. |
|
Brent Ellifson

In Brent's second year of concrete canoe mayhem, he has promised not to break anything, in fact he might have a hand in fixing up the trailer. Brent is always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need, like when Tyler needed to cross a puddle... |
Derrick Anderson

Derrick has quickly become one of the best canoe team members. Actually he's just around all the time, gets along with everyone, and generally has a good time. He is good with his hands and has a real eye for detail. Derrick will be a huge help in the years to come. |
David Johnson

David, on the right, lost his horse at regionals last year and the sound of coconuts wasn't enough to get him to Nationals with us in Seattle. He was missed. He's been around a lot this year and we hope he will make a few more journeys with the team in the future.
|
Marc Schweiger

Marc is just such a slapable guy! He's been the canoe team's slapping post all first semester. Never mind his dedication to tasks like sifting chunky cement and mixing bucket after bucket of concrete.
|
Matt Woicek

Matt is one crazy bird! |
Mike Stone
Mike doing his best impression of the unibomber, is, along with Brent, one of the Truckguys. Mike has been a big help building this year's prototype and taking his turn as teem wheelman.
|
Yevhen Brzhesskyy

Yevhen has brought us his worldly knowledge all the way from Russia! |
Eric Schneider

Always trying to look provocative, Eric has certainly added some beauty to the lab space. |
Ashley Vesperman

Joe said, "Have you heard the good news about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints"
Ashley said, "No, I don't want to join your crazy religion." |
| |
|
|
Cam Barnes

We can't seem to scare this one away, Cam returned this year to be a big help with mix. |
Tyler Hoehn & Evan Thomas

These guys are a class act! Ready for anything, mysterious, and well dressed. Watch out because they have a full three years left to take UW-Concrete canoe forward!

Clear Concrete Paddle
In our quest to create concrete with negative weight, we ran
across this cool stuff: clear concrete. Look for the UW to design a
"glass bottomed" canoe out of this stuff in 2007. To test our new
found material, we made some clear concrete paddles, pictured above,
which we plan on using in competition this year.
|
Box

The latest addition to our team, Box will be there holding our gear whenever we want to go paddling. Isn't Box pretty? |
Trailer

Pictured above is our MVP, trailer. Trailer takes much abuse from
the team. Going across the country multiple times at speeds in
excess of plaid. It may have a few bald tires and its brakes may be
a bit sticky, but we would get no-where without our beloved trailer.
