Co-Chairs
|
Austin Kazda
Austin , pictured here with his alter ego is just a fun shine kind of guy. He will be keeping the canoe team fun and shiny this year.
|
Robbie Sivak

Here's Robbie and his buddie, the scary mask on the wall. We don't know quite what to make of Rob's new found style, but we like him anyways. An aspiring structural engineer, Robbie, will be doing an in depth structural analysis and probably wielding a mix drill like the pro he is!
|
Dave Blodgett

Dave just won't get his head out of the water. No matter how much people try to stop him, he just seems to dive in head first every time. Dave is returning as hull and mold engineer. He'll be bringing experience from whitewater kayaking and the paddlesports industry to make this year's canoe the best yet.
|
Paddlers
|
Kelly Greuel
Kelly is a force to be reckoned with. Once you wipe that silly little grin off her face it's all grit and gusto. She aims to bench twice her weight this year, and have a cross bow that pretty much tears the bow of the canoe off. Watchout! |
Nicole Brostowitz

The whole team warned Nicole not to drink that toxic waste, but needless to say she just had to give it a try. Luckily, she did wake up. It gave her super human powers and she is designing concrete that has a negative weight. Gravity is no match for Nicole and her secrete toxic brew.
|
Ivy Harmon
After two hours and 8 miles on the water, ivy was warmer then ever! We had to rush to get this picture because she started steaming and all the ice melted right off! |
Dave Blodgett
See some of Dave's other paddling escapades here.
|
George Sullivan

When the canoe team comes across someone that is a "problem" we go to George "Georgy Boy" Sullivan and his little friend seen above. George will be taking opponents home in the trunk in 2007.
|
Alex Rexrode
Alex, also known as El Presidente, after his new found position as the president of the UW's ASCE chapter, is seen here at peak performance. We just can't tell if that's a tight fitting shirt or evidence that Alex really is a farmer at heart.
|
The Elite Supporting Cast
|
Jodi Zwickey
For some reason we haven't been able to find any pictures of Jodi where she isn't smiling and looking right at the camera. Even if the rest of the team is in bouts of depression, Jodi will make up for it with her cheery disposition. |
Ann Thielmann
Not pictured here, is the four canoers in Forward
that are pulling Ann. We thought we would step up our training
efforts and by regionals 2007, we'll be pulling a pyramid made up of
all the freshmen on the team. |
Jesse Duchow
Jesse, the picture speaks for itsself.
|
Adam Reinbold
Reinbold, pictured above at the Wentworth Institute is
amazingly happy about something. Adam is just a happy guy like that.
He's been a die hard Canoe member since the good 'ol days of
taliesin, and will bring that experience to the team this year!
|
Dana Dentice
What you can't see in this picture is that Dana is actually
on top of a large sample of our clear concrete. Obviously, what she
is doing is physically impossible without the aid of some high tech
materials. Having had a hand in developing concrete and being an
overall solid team member, Dana will be back this year helping to
develop gravity defying concrete so she can fly! |
Corey Olson

On his quest to be a better kisser, Corey stoops pretty low
on occasion. Practice makes perfect, you keep up the practice and
one day the girls will come running... maybe. |
|
Brent Ellifson

Brent is making his presence felt in his first year on the team.
Taking interest in everything from hull design to Team gatorade
drinking parties. The doctor says brent checks out and he's good to
go for the 2007 concrete canoe year.
|
Grant Smith

Arrr... Grant has established himself on the canoe team early in his
college career. Already an expert at making cylinders and plates,
Grant has joined the push to make concrete that defies gravity and a
planing hull design. Now if only he would introduce us to the parrot
toting hip showing pirate next to him.
|
Nick Bobinski
Nick, obviously in massive ammounts of pain over the most recent botched play by the packers! Nick is a third generation canoe member after his older brother and sister.
|
William Volock

William, with his affinity for control and policing of the rules has been keeping us in bounds all semester. William has been a great help to the team with his excelent knowledge of numerous engineering design software. |
Marc Schweiger

Marc is just such a slapable guy! He's been the canoe team's slapping post all first semester. Never mind his dedication to tasks like sifting chunky cement and mixing bucket after bucket of concrete. |
Matt Woicek

Matt, seen here with the biggest fish he ever cought, has been a big help in catching all kinds of little things around the canoe lab: thick sections of the canoe, reinforcement sticking out, etc. |
Tyler Hoehn

Tyler, seen here in his alternate life as a chipendale dancer, has managed to make his presence felt on the team, and not only with the ladies. Look for him, along with many other younger members to be a driving force on the canoe team for years to come. |
David Johnson

Dave, seen here on the right, seems downright royal, even when he's not dressed up as some kind of sun king for halloween. Wether dave has a horse or not, his friend with loud coconuts will make you thihnk he does! |
|
Clear Concrete Paddle
In our quest to create concrete with negative weight, we ran
across this cool stuff: clear concrete. Look for the UW to design a
"glass bottomed" canoe out of this stuff in 2007. To test our new
found material, we made some clear concrete paddles, pictured above,
which we plan on using in competition this year.
|
Box

The latest adition to our team, Box will be there holding our gear whenever we want to go paddling. Isn't Box pretty? |
Trailer

Pictured above is our MVP, trailer. Trailer takes much abuse from
the team. Going across the country multiple times at speeds in
excess of plaid. It may have a few bald tires and its brakes may be
a bit sticky, but we would get no-where without our beloved trailer.
