Course objective:
Continuation of EPD 305. More development of fundamental skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing Mandarin Chinese. Students gain a basic understanding of Chinese culture. Professional can prepare for business travel to China.
Course description:
Introduces additional skills that will be needed in everyday conversation and life: checking into a hotel, making a request, going to the doctor, visiting someone's home, leaving someone's home, offering congratulations, attending a farewell party. Instruction in approximately 75 additional Chinese characters. Cultural topics: Chinese politics and business, China and the world.

Homework:
Weekly assignments that reinforce vocabulary and grammatical patterns.
Assignments include short-answer and translation questions.
Exams:
Three two-hour exams.
