Course objective:
Develop an in-depth understanding of robot manipulators through mathematical modeling and simulation. Introduce machine vision and sensor integration for robot use in automation.
Course description:
In-depth study of advanced automation concepts and of robotic manipulators. Topics include kinematics, trajectories, dynamic control and programming of robots along with concepts of flexible manufacturing and assembly operations.
Prerequisite:
Proficiency in high-level programming and knowledge of basic linear algebra.
Homework:
Five homework assignments.
Exam:
Final project.
Laboratory:
None.
Computer software:
MATLAB, Maple or Compiler (C or C++).
