TEACHING AND LEARNING WITH THE XO
VOLUNTEERS FROM UW-MADISON are compiling research data on the usability of a new device, called the XO, from the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) project founded by Nicholas Negroponte at MIT.
Inspired by former UW-Madison chancellor John D. Wiley and coordinated through the Engineering Learning Center, the group is evaluating the utility of the XO for classrooms in Wisconsin.
The first project was completed with students during summer 2008 in Madison, Wisconsin, and more are in progress.
