TO EXPAND THEIR IMPACT on College of Engineering teaching, learning and research, the Engineering Learning Center, Engineering Media Services and Wendt Library are consolidating under the new name “Wendt Commons.”

This consolidation will provide college faculty and staff a “one-stop-shopping” approach to teaching and learning services that will support increased innovation in teaching and technology-enhanced learning. Students will also see benefits from this approach outside the classroom as collaborations within the college allow other student services to be made available within the Wendt Commons learning environment.

Highlights of how they can help you, beginning in fall 2010:

• Using eCOW2 or other learning technologies
  There is now help during the day. Call to talk with someone at 608/265-7811, email ecow2@engr.wisc.edu, or drop in at 411 Wendt Commons (Library).

• Using and creating video and other rich media

• Improving students’ information use via information skills development sessions and/or resource pages

• Strengthening your proposals for engineering education-related grants and awards (Engineering Beyond Boundaries, MIU, NSF, etc.). Teaching and Learning Services staff can help strengthen assessment plans and make recommendations for effective implementation plans.
