Cramer appointed Associate Dean for Academic Affairs

Dean Paul S. Peercy has announced the appointment of Civil and Environmental Engineering Professor Steven Cramer as College of Engineering associate dean for academic affairs. Cramer will provide leadership to the college for undergraduate and graduate programs and related activities.

As a researcher, Cramer studies structural engineering with primary expertise in the mechanical behavior of wood and wood-based materials, the design and analysis of wood structures, and the performance of concrete construction materials. He is a member of the UW-Madison Teaching Academy. In 2002, he earned the Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Award. Cramer received his BS in civil and environmental engineering from UW-Madison in 1979, before heading to Colorado State for his MS and PhD. He joined the College of Engineering faculty in 1984.
