After soliciting applicants from colleges across the country, the college invited students to attend the ninth annual Opportunities in Engineering Conference. The conference is designed to help students learn about opportunities for engineering graduate school at UW-Madison, and is especially geared for underrepresented students. The students explored the engineering campus for four days in November. In addition to tours, the students met with faculty to discuss research interests and attended social functions sponsored by college and student groups like the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE).
