| TAs and Faculty Gather to Improve Teaching |
A celebration of learning was the theme of the Teaching Improvement Program, August 29, 1996. Faculty, teaching assistants, and staff participated in a variety of workshops that focused on student learning and best classroom practices. The workshops included titles such as constructing homepages for courses, ethics in the classroom, student and self-motivation, laboratory safety, using computers for teaching in classrooms and labs, student communication and interaction, theories of learning, and stress management.
Teaching Improvement Program participants take advantage of beautiful summer weather by taking lunch and a seminar in front of Engineering Hall.

Of the 160 participants, 60 were new teaching assistants who attended the complimentaty orientation for new TAs, UAs, SAs, and faculty, August 28-29. More than 40 faculty, staff, and TAs shared their expertise with others.
