Tissue cells for experiments often adhere to their storage containers, altering the cells' properties and potentially invalidating researchers' experiments. To prevent cellular adhesion,
biomedical engineering
students Elan Bomsztyk and Bern Jordan devised a "wobble tower" that delivers enough agitation to keep the cells in suspension for six to 12 hours without extensively damaging them. Their Non-Adhesive Bioreactor for In-Vitro Cell Culture fits in an incubator, where conditions are ideal for cells to live, grow and divide.
