After a perfect cast, the rattle-trap lure drops into the water at the weed line, where it catches the attention of a 5-pound bass.
The fish bites, struggles and the angler, a quadriplegic, triumphantly reels it in.

students Dusty Brunner, Jesse Gunkel, Jeff Hegedus, Angela Neidermire, Scott Nimmer, Tom Van Oss, Mike Vogel and Jeremy Westphal, someday might make this experience possible.
With the aid of a torsion spring, one motor casts the line multiple distances, while another reels the bait in when it detects tension in the line.
Users also can manually control the system, which is mounted on an 3/8-inch-thick aluminum plate.
