Dan McNichol: Dire States Tour

Author and infrastructure expert Dan McNichol is traveling the country to start a conversation about America's aging transportation infrastructure. Dubbing his campaign the Dire States Tour (direstates.com), McNichol will be making his journey in a rusty 1949 Hudson car.

During his stop at UW-Madison, he will give a lecture (3:30 p.m.) and take part in a panel discussion with UW-Madison experts and transportation officials (4:30 p.m.), reception (5:15 p.m.). Panelists taking part in the event will be: WisDOT Secretary Mark Gottlieb, CEE Dept Chair and UW Director of Sustainability Craig Benson, Strand Associates Project Manager and ASCE Wisconsin Section President Jon Lindert. David Noyce, a UW-Madison professor of civil and environmental engineering and Director of the Traffic Operations and Safety Laboratory and the Wisconsin Driving Simulator Laboratory, will moderate the discussion.
