Crone named Society of Experimental Mechanics fellow

Wendy Crone, a professor of engineering physics, biomedical engineering and materials science and engineering and associate dean for graduate education in the UW-Madison Graduate School, has been named a fellow of the Society of Experimental Mechanics. Designation as an SEM fellow is reserved to a select group of individuals who have made notable contributions to SEM and to the field of experimental mechanics. The society selected Crone for her contributions to the field of solid mechanics, biomechanics and materials through application of carefully designed experimental techniques to address fundamental mechanics of materials issues in reactive biopolymers, nanostructured materials and shape memory alloy material systems.
