Luedtke wins INFORMS young researchers prize

The Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences (INFORMS) has selected Industrial and Systems Engineering Assistant Professor James Luedtke as the winner of the 2013 INFORMS Optimization Society Young Researchers Prize for his paper, “A branch-and-cut decomposition algorithm for solving chance-constrained mathematical programs with finite support.” Of his paper, the INFORMS selection committee said: “The cited paper has the potential to make a very significant impact in the numerical solution of a broad class of stochastic optimization problems.”
