Sridharan, Sun Prairie company, to explore cold-spray coating applications

Engineering Physics Distinguished Research Professor Kumar Sridharan (who also is affiliated with materials science and engineering) has received a $50,000 UW System applied research grant to collaborate with Thermal Spray Technologies of Sun Prairie to advance the development of cold-spray coating technology for high-energy-density electronics corrosion resistance applications. Applied research grants are selected based on a UW System-wide competition and enable faculty and staff to apply their expertise and scholarship to benefit the state economy.
