Two graduate students finalists in decision analysis paper competition
Industrial and systems engineering PhD student Mehmet Ayvaci won first place in the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) Decision Analysis Society's annual student paper competition for his paper, “The effect of budgetary restrictions on breast cancer diagnostic decisions.” PhD student Chen Wang, also in industrial and systems engineering, was one of five other finalists, with “Expert elicitation of adversary preferences using ordinal judgments.” Both students will receive their awards at the INFORMS annual conference in October.
