Multiple awards support Kim's low-power accelerated processor research
In an effort to support accelerated processor units research, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has awarded Electrical and Computer Engineering Assistant Professor Nam Sung Kim $50,000 to fund research of more power-efficient designs that combine a central processor and graphics processor on a single chip. IBM awarded Kim a faculty award of $35,000 to support the same research earlier this year.
