Private gifts support nearly 40 engineering faculty professorships
Endowed chairs enable the college to recruit and retain world-class faculty—and as a result, to attract and educate the best students. An endowed professorship provides financial support to the professor who holds it and gives that person the resources to pursue research, teaching, equipment or facilities not otherwise possible. Each of these privately funded gifts makes a major difference in the excellence of engineering research and education at UW-Madison.
Following is a list of faculty and their named professorships awarded through the College of Engineering. (Note: Engineering faculty also hold professorships administered elsewhere in the university, and those are not included in this list.)
