Turng receives grant for nanocellulose research
Mechanical Engineering Professor Lih-Sheng (Tom) Turng and his team have received a $380,000 award from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to continue work with the Forest Products Laboratory on a project exploring the potential applications of nanocellulose in polymer nanocomposites. Nanocellulose can be used to reinforce and strengthen lightweight polymer nanocomposites, such as transparent nanocomposites, composite concrete, food packaging, and flexible electronics and displays.
