Bio-inspired antenna design earns IEEE paper prize
The IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society selected Electrical and Computer Engineering Assistant Professor Nader Behdad's 2011 paper on bioinspired antenna arrays for its 2012 Piergiorgio L.E. Uslenghi Letters Prize Paper Award. The paper, “Biologically inspired electrically small antenna arrays with enhanced directional sensitivity,” posits that answers to compact antenna design may be found by examining how antennas in insects are arranged. Behdad's co-authors are M.A. Al-Joumayly and Meng Li.
