Moskwa recognized for high bandwidth engine test system

Mechanical Engineering Professor John J. Moskwa received the ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) Charles Stark Draper Innovative Practice Award. The Dynamic Systems and Control Division of ASME gives the award biennially for either excellent sustained contributions or for an outstanding major, singular contribution in innovative applications of dynamic systems, measurement or control in engineering practice. Moskwa earned the award for his development of high-bandwidth transient engine test systems using advanced electronics and hydrostatics, which allow engineers to accurately replicate actual dynamic engine and powertrain loads thereby improving engine-powertrain designs.
