WORLD-CLASS INTERDISCIPLINARY EDUCATION FOR ENGINEERING MANAGERSThe Master of Science in Manufacturing Systems Engineering (MSE) at UW-Madison was the first of its kind in the United States. Recognized internationally as a leading provider of cross-functional engineers, the MSE Program equips leaders to manage manufacturing in the global marketplace. With more than 400 alumni leading operations and driving change worldwide, the MSE degree is a highly recognized credential. The MSE degree is multidisciplinary, integrating courses in engineering, business, computer sciences and statistics. Alongside a flexibly self-designed curriculum, students experience frequent practical interaction with leading manufacturing firms, engaging in team projects in the field, internships and industry collaborations. MSE students experience:
17 MS DEGREES AWARDED IN 2001–02Seventeen students earned degrees in the past year. Skilled beyond a narrow specialty and prepared to lead technical teams, these graduates are in high demand among employers seeking flexible engineers. Graduates continually prove themselves on the job, implementing advanced manufacturing projects requiring superb communication between management and mechanical, industrial, electrical, and process engineers. Ninety-nine percent of MSE graduates accept permanent positions by graduation day.
