  • Conducts research to advance current design and application of heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigerating technologies.

  • Promotes advances through project-based technical assistance, publications and education.

  • Maintains expertise in specialty areas including optimal control, indoor air quality, humidity control, district heating and cooling, thermal energy storage, refrigerant alternative, and industrial refrigeration (using ammonia as a refrigerant).
