  • Performs research studying conversion of thermonuclear energy to useful form, in both the magnetic and inertial confinement fields.

  • Examines fusion reactor design, fusion materials development, plasma theory, fusion reactor safety, intense particle beam propagation and applications of fusion power in space.

  • Assists national/international programs in fusion reactor design.
