POWER SYSTEMS ENGINEERING RESEARCH CENTER (PSerc)
This multi-university, NSF-funded research consortium includes representatives from UW-Madison, Arizona State University, University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign, University of California-Berkeley, Cornell University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Iowa State University, Carnegie Mellon University, Texas A&M University, Colorado School of Mines, and Washington State University. Its mission is to significantly contribute to the restructuring of the electric power industry without compromising its standing as a critically reliable component of the infrastructure. PSerc consists of a diverse group of faculty and students dedicated to solving the challenges arising from power system restructuring. This cross-disciplinary team includes specialists in power system dynamics, applied mathematics, non-linear systems, power electronics, advanced control theory, computing, economics and public policy. There are many dimensions to the PSerc vision including analytical, technical, regulatory, economic and educational.
