TECHNOLOGY ENTERPRISE COOPERATIVE (UW-TEC)
The UW Technology Enterprise Cooperative, a joint venture with the
School of Business and the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences,
creates opportunities for UW-Madison students, faculty and staff to
experience the technology entrepreneurship process and learn about the
formation of technology-based enterprises. Among its activities,
UW-TEC:

Fosters interaction and partnerships between students and faculty to
explore unique technology and related business opportunities. Provides
support for new technology-based businesses through seminars, training
and investment support.

Administers Schoofs Prize for Creativity, an undergraduate student
invention contest designed to stimulate interest in entrepreneurship.

Administers G. Steven Burrill Technology Business Plan Competition for students across the UW-Madison campus.

Administers Tong Prototype Prize and loan program.

Establishes cooperative ventures where UW-Madison students, faculty,
staff and private sector partners provide in-kind resources to develop
a technology to the point of commercialization.
