CENTER FOR PLASMA THEORY AND COMPUTATION
-
Develops analytical and computational models of plasma equilibrium,
waves, instabilities, radio-frequency wave heating, turbulence and
transport for applications to toroidal magnetically confined plasmas
and controlled fusion.
-
Analyzes space plasma wave propagation and heating, and computes and
designs millimeter wave amplifiers and radio frequency plasma sources
for materials processing.
-
Administers cluster of workstations and local network interface to
NERSC supercomputers for plasma/fusion research.
-
Involves faculty, staff and graduate students in the Department of
Electrical and Computer Engineering, Department of Engineering Physics
and Department of Physics.
