Performs research on wastes, environmental effects, and design for the
environment; conducts projects on waste processing, beneficial
utilization, and designing environmentally preferable products and
processes.

Does affiliate work with the Solid & Hazardous Waste Education Center,
administered by University of Wisconsin Extension and the college's Department of
Engineering Professional Development.

Provides outreach education to Wisconsin companies and communities on
technical topics relating to the environment; conducts in-plant
pollution-prevention opportunity assessments for Wisconsin businesses
and industry.
