  • Develops and evaluates healthcare decision support and information systems for healthcare providers, consumers and policy makers to improve quality of care, reimbursement policy and delivery of care in long-term and other healthcare settings.

  • Provides decision support to national and state organizations in assessing and improving quality of care provided in healthcare facilities, health plans and local communities.

  • Develops/evaluates patient and caregiver support systems, including the Comprehensive Health Enhancement Support System (CHESS).

  • Performs analyses to promote efficient healthcare payment and care practice.

  • Conducts research and decision support system development in five major areas: (1) quality assessment and improvement, (2) long-term care, (3) public health policy and program evaluation, (4) consumer decision making, (5) patient education and support.
