Develops and evaluates healthcare decision support and information
systems for healthcare providers, consumers and policy makers to
improve quality of care, reimbursement policy and delivery of care in
long-term and other healthcare settings.
Provides decision support to national and state organizations in
assessing and improving quality of care provided in healthcare
facilities, health plans and local communities.
Develops/evaluates patient and caregiver support systems, including
the Comprehensive Health Enhancement Support System (CHESS).
Performs analyses to promote efficient healthcare payment
and care practice.
Conducts research and decision support system development
in five major areas: (1) quality assessment and improvement,
(2) long-term care, (3) public health policy and program evaluation,
(4) consumer decision making, (5) patient education and support.
